The U.S. Army describes Carlisle Barracks as “an outpost of pride and military tradition and the most strategic 500 acres in the Army.” Established in 1757 with the help of Benjamin Franklin, it is the second oldest active military base in the nation. It served as a central supply and refitting center for troops during the Civil War. In 1951, Carlisle Barracks became home to the U.S. Army War College, a senior educational institution to prepare Army officers for high-level leadership. It’s a base steeped in history – and Navy Federal Credit Union is proud to be part of its exciting future!

On March 24 at 11 a.m., Navy Federal will hold a grand opening ceremony to officially mark the beginning of the newest chapter in our credit union’s 84-year history. We’re inviting our members, along with those serving aboard Carlisle Barracks and living in the Carlisle community, to join us for the festivities!

During the weeks leading up to the grand opening, the base and community support shown towards the staff at this new Navy Federal branch has been impressive. The branch staff is excited about the location of the branch, noting their proximity to the commissary and other popular base destinations.

In addition to providing Navy Federal’s world-class service to those serving in the Carlisle community, the branch staff is excited to help provide members with the insight they need to become successful in managing their personal finances. The branch staff is an experienced group, with several team members having experience serving Navy Federal members at branches located around the world.

As Navy Federal begins a new chapter of service aboard Carlisle Barracks, we hope those Active Duty, retired, veterans and their families will attend the grand opening or stop by the branch at their earliest convenience to meet the team.
